Rohals Celebrate Golden

Pete and Nancy Rohal of Weirton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were united in marriage on Aug. 6, 1966, at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Steubenville.

Pete Rohal is the son of the late Pete and Anna Rohal of Weirton. He was a science teacher, teaching anatomy and physiology and advanced biology, for more than 40 years at Weir High School. He is a lover of the great outdoors, having spent countless hours with his students and family identifying plants and flowers in state parks. He also was a sponsor of the Hi-Y for many years and is an active member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.

Nancy Rohal is the daughter of the late Basil and Helen Barna of Steubenville. She began her career at Sears, Roebuck & Co., where she worked in the business office. With the birth of her first daughter, she left Sears for a career at home. Among her many accomplishments are overcoming lymphoma and raising a chemist, a pharmacist and a biological safety officer.

They have three children: Dr. Kristina (Paul) Gansle of Cincinnati; Jeffrey and Allie of Charleston; and Kimberly (Dr. Tony) DiGiandomenico of Clarksburg, Md. They have six grandchildren.

An intimate family gathering was held in Canaan Valley to celebrate the occasion.
