Couple Marks 60 Years
George and Barbara Roberts of Martins Ferry celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday.
They were united in marriage on Sept. 29, 1956, at St. Alphonsus Church in Wheeling.
George Roberts is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh O. Roberts of Wheeling. He served in the U.S. Navy and is retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry plant.
Barbara Roberts is the daughter of the late Edward Anthony of Wheeling and the late Lena Gaul of Bridgeport.
They are the parents of two children: Sharon (Tom) Bovalina of McMurray, Pa., and Bob (Karry) Roberts of Commerce Township, Mich. They also have four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A family celebration is planned.
