Hoffmans Mark 66 Years
Dale Edward and Shirley Louise Hoffman of Wheeling celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on Friday.
They were united in marriage on Nov. 4, 1950, by the Rev. E.M. Berry at the Church of God in Brookside. Bob Baltz served as the best man, and Irene Baltz was the maid of honor.
Dale Hoffman, son of the late John and Anna Hoffman of Wheeling, worked for Picoma Industries in Martins Ferry as a foreman supervisor for 30 years before retiring and opening the Hoffman Machine Shop, where he made special parts for NASA as well as other companies before taking his full retirement.
Shirley Hoffman, daughter of the late Franklin and Susan McAninch of Martins Ferry, was a homemaker and worked for nine years as a manager at Hills Department Store in Benwood.
They are members of Elm Grove United Methodist Church.
They are the parents of three sons and one daughter. The family includes Dale Hoffman Jr. (Lois) of Wheeling; Robert Hoffman of Martins Ferry and David Hoffman, who is deceased; and Lisa Hoffman-Bieniek-Templeton (Dr. J.J. John Templeton) of Triadelphia.
They have three granddaughters, four grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
