Nixons Celebrate 50 Years
John and Janet Serig Nixon will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 22.
Mr. and Mrs. Nixon were married on Jan. 22, 1972, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elm Grove.
Janet is the daughter of the late Chuck and Ruth Serig, and John is the son of the late Harold and Rose Baller Nixon.
John is retired from the former Bloch Brothers Tobacco/Swisher International, and Janet is retired from Rite Aid pharmacy.
John and Janet are the parents of two children: Jonathan Nixon and his wife, Morgan Johnson, from Yorkville; and Jessica Nixon Rine from Moundsville.
They have five grandchildren.
