Mr. and Mrs. James Piccirillo of Follansbee celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 1, 2023. They were united in marriage June 2, 1973, at the Follansbee Christian Church by the late Rev. John Barto.

Mrs. Piccirillo is the former Janet Wynne Bird, daughter of the late Carma and Doris Bird of Follansbee.

Jim is the son of the late Steve and Lorane Piccirllo of Follansbee.

The couple were lifelong educators. Janet was an English teacher at Brooke High School for 30 years, and Jim was a principal in Hancock County, W.Va. for 25 years and in Burgettstown, Pa., for eight years.

They have one son, Steven, who resides in Kansas City, Missouri, with his wife Beth and three children Renee, Michelle and Travis.

The couple hosted a dinner June 1, 2023, at the Weirton Holiday Inn for members of their wedding party, family and close friends.
