Lou and Shirley Zimmerman of Calabash, N.C., formerly of Wheeling, celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 1.

They were married July 1, 1972 at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church in Wheeling by the Rev. G. Kenneth Gates.

Shirley is the daughter of the late Donald C. and Florence Bixler Jefferys. Lou is the son of the late Chester C. and Katherine Klieves Zimmerman.

Both Lou and Shirley are graduates of Wheeling High School. Shirley is also a graduate of the Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing in 1957. Both are retired Respiratory Therapists from the Ohio Valley Medical.

They are the parents of five children, Kathie Zimmerman of Carolina Shores, N.C.; Becki (Keith) Hanson of Calabash, N.C.; Laura (Rick Evans) of Wheeling; Jeffery Snedeker of Berry, Ky.; and Timothy Snedeker of Loveland, Ohio. They have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A quiet celebration was observed.
