Jazz at the Stifel Fine Arts Center Set for Oct. 14
WHEELING — Oglebay Institute continues its tradition of bringing big city jazz shows to Wheeling. Internationally recognized jazz singer Lisa Yvonne Ferraro will perform in the historic Stifel Mansion at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.
A teller of stories and an interpreter of song, Ferraro has a powerfully dynamic vocal range. The warmth of her voice and radiant smile, along with a rich sense of humor keep her audiences enthralled.
Her latest jazz recording, “Serenading The Moon,” climbed the Billboard Jazz charts and is a collaboration with some of the finest players on the jazz scene today.
The show is part of OI’s Jazz at the Stifel series, which brings some of the region’s top jazz artists perform at Oglebay Institute’s Stifel Fine Arts Center on select Saturdays throughout the year.
Crowd-pleasing performers, expert showman and award-winning song stylists entertain crowds in the elegant, yet intimate, splendor of one of Wheeling’s grand properties. The 100-year-old Stifel Fine Arts Center is the former home of one of Wheeling’s most prominent families and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
While enjoying a selection of desserts and wines that are available for purchase at all jazz shows, guests can explore the historic home and also view the art on display in the galleries.

Nov. 16: Jenny Wilson Trio (Jazz Among the Trees)
