Run for Your Life 5K to Benefit Wheeling Symphony

Adult racers getting into the mood for the Run For Your Life include from left, Charles Austin, Gunner Kernik, Marco Aprea and Jake Stern.

WHEELING — The Wheeling Symphony Auxiliary is sponsoring a zombie-themed 5K race, Run for Your Life, on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Wheeling Heritage Port. Online registration is available now at Tristateracer.com. Day-of race registration will be available beginning at 8 a.m.

A mini-monster dash will be held at 8:30 a.m., and the race begins at 9 a.m. Symphony volunteers dressed as zombies will line the race course, and costumes for participants are encouraged. Our youth symphony members will be providing some spooky sounds prior to the start of the race. All participants will receive a Run For Your Life T-shirt and will be treated to fresh fruit and snacks at the finish line by Heritage Port.

Medals will be awarded to male and female runners first through third places, as well as five male and female age groups. Our major race sponsor is Dinsmore & Shohl, LLP, and all proceeds benefit the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. For more information, contact Jessica Benedict or Aimee Stern at 304-230-1700
