Warwood Lions Club to Mark 75th Anniversary
WHEELING — The Warwood Lions Club will host its 75th Anniversary Celebration and District Governor’s Night at 6 p.m. Nov. 15 at Generations Pub on National Road in Wheeling.
There will be a half hour for socializing with a dinner to follow. Lions Club members may brings guests. Any past Lions and friends of the Warwood Lions Club are welcome to attend. Tickets are available by emailing Warwood Lions Club member Margret at tommarhill@frontier.com.
Lions District Governor Bill Syphers and Wheeling Mayor Glenn Elliott will be speakers at the event.
For the past 75 years, the Warwood Lions Club has been helping people throughout the community of Warwood. Ever since the club was first established on Nov. 11, 1944, the Warwood Lions Club has been performing good deeds for the Warwood community and its residents.
As a member of Lions Clubs International, the Warwood Lions Club shares a vision to be a leader in community and humanitarian service. The Warwood Lions Club has received numerous awards and has been recognized often for dedicated participation in Lions events and for the extensive list of activities administered by its members.
The following list of events and activities are just a few of the many that the Warwood Lions Club participates in:
∫ Collects eyeglasses for reclamation & distribution
∫ High School and Middle School scholarships
∫ Financial contributions to individuals, families and organizations
∫ Warwood Community Festival in Garden Park
∫ LEO Club (young Lions members) for Middle School students
∫ Roadblock to collect for the Easter Seal Foundation
∫ Christmas “Light-Up Warwood night” in Garden Park
∫ Provide eyeglasses to those individuals in need

As an organization, The Warwood Lions Club has made a tremendous difference throughout the Warwood community as a whole over the past several decades.
