BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
At 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, an officer detained a driver on a traffic stop at Ohio 7 and Interstate 470 after marijuana was seen on his lap. The small amount of marijuana was confiscated, and the male was released on a warning, according to the report.
At 7:12 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the Kroger Gas Station on Valley Frontage Road, St. Clairsville, for a report of a female with an orange Dodge Dart at one of the pumps who reportedly was “on something.” The female was shaking, couldn’t stand still and could not get into her car for about an hour and a half, according to the report, which stated she had a knife in her hand and was told to drop it. A K-9 unit was brought to the scene and gave a positive indication, according to the report, which stated suspected cocaine was found in her purse.
At 1:49 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy was out on Bannock Road, St. Clairsville, with a driver who was lost.
At 9:43 p.m. Tuesday, deputies were on a traffic stop in Brookside of a vehicle with West Virginia plates. Consent to search the vehicle was granted, according to the report, and drugs were located. A female — whose name was not listed in the incident report — took a $20 bill out of the front of her pants that had white powder on it, the report stated. The vehicle was towed, and one female was taken to jail.
At 7:53 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to a request for assistance from the Wolfhurst Police Department at an address on Scott Avenue, Bridgeport, where subject were burning material two days in a row.
At 6 p.m. Tuesday, a man from Pfeffer Road, Barnesville, came to the station to report another man stole checks from his checking account and wrote one in the amount of $350.
At 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to Pleasant Valley Trailer Court, South Main Street, Bethesda, where a male who overdosed. The male — whose name was not listed in the incident report — was given Narcan, according to the report, which stated heroine was found in his sock and a needle was found in his waistband. An emergency squad transported the male to Wheeling Hospital. Charges will be sent to the prosecutor for drug possession and child endangerment, according to the report.
