DUI checkpoint scheduled in Hancock Co. The West Virginia State Police will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint in Hancock County on W.Va. 2 near Jackson Street in New Cumberland on Friday, Aug. 7, at 8 p.m. and conclude on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 2 a.m. This checkpoint will be conducted to deter drunk driving in this area. WEIRTON – Weirton police have issued a warrant as part of the investigation into an alleged murder in the city's downtown Tuesday. Weirton Police Chief Charlie Kush, in a statement issued Wednesday morning, announced a warrant had been issued for David Barger, 69, following the death of his wife, Donna Barger. Weirton officers responded to 3931 Grant St. at approximately 2:24 p.m. Tuesday, after receiving a request for a welfare check at the property.
