Kovalesky, 6-3, 230, was a mainstay at middle linebacker for the Cadets.

“Raymond has had a wonderful career at Linsly on the field, in the classroom and as a member of our school community. His growth and development as a player, both physically and mentally, has been as remarkable as any player I have coached,” Linsly head football coach B.J. Depew said. “He truly became a leader in this program during his junior year and developed into one of the best high school football players in our area. The opportunity he has in front of him now at WVU is exciting and he has earned it by doing everything the right way.”

Kovalesky charted an eye-popping 138 tackles this past season and racked up an amazing 356 in his career. He had 25 TFlsd and three INTs.

“Griffin is fulfilling one of his biggest goals,” St. Clairsville football coach Brett McLean said. “From the day I met him he has wanted to become a West Virginia University football player. He has worked extremely hard and even though he had numerous offers from other colleges and universities, his passion to reach that goal guided his decision.
