New Good Zoo Director to Visit Newcomers Club

WHEELING – The Newcomers Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at Generations Restaurant, 338 National Road, Wheeling. The guest speaker for August will be Amy Rutherford, the new director of Oglebay Good Zoo. Rutherford will discuss plans for the zoo, including the new Gary E. West Pridelands habitat and lodging. Any woman new or returning to the area is welcome to join the group for its monthly luncheon. Anyone interested in attending should call Jan at 304-280-4270 by the Monday before the meeting.

Registration Open for Children’s Acting Classes at The Strand

MOUNDSVILLE – It’s time to register for children’s acting classes at the Strand Theatre in Moundsville. Classes will begin on Sept. 26 and will conclude on Oct. 31. Based upon their age, each participant will choose from one of two levels.
