Wheeling Park High School Grads Awarded Beneke Scholarships

A total of 27 Beneke Scholarships totaling $224,000 were awarded to Wheeling Park High School graduates at the school’s recent commencement at WesBanco Arena.
The Phyllis A. Beneke Scholarship was established in memory of Wheeling Park High School’s second principal. Since its inception, more than $4.57 million has been distributed. The Beneke Scholarships include the Patriot Scholarship, Outstanding Achievement Scholarship, Distinguished Scholarship and Beneke Scholarship.
Beneke Scholars receive a four-year scholarship totaling $24,000. Distinguished Scholars receive a four-year scholarship totaling $20,000. Patriot Scholars receive a one-time award of between $2,000 and $4,000.
Ten students were named Outstanding Achievement Scholars. Three of those students earned a four-year scholarship totaling $16,000, three students earned four-year scholarships totaling $12,000 and four students earned four-year scholarships totaling $4,000.
Beneke Scholars were Madison Eisenhauer and Maxwell McGovern.
Distinguished Scholars were Travis Henry and Jacob Wolfe.
The four-year Outstanding Achievement Scholars were Laykin Milton, Jazmyn Perricellia, Madeline Ross, Kailen Barnhart, JaLeah Creighton, Alaina Taylor, James Kawasaki, Maggie Rowe, MaKiyah Strothers and Sara Torbett.
Patriot Scholars were Tae’Leigh Bumgardner, KaAsia King, Zachary Anderson, Kara Bole, Zachary Bole, Matthew Dunn, Austin Musilli, Kathryn Spears, Gavin Goodrich, Olivia Kuntz, Luke Myers, Delaney Theiss and Sophie White.
