GLEN DALE – Wheeling Park’s Madeline Bradshaw defended her No. 1 singles championship Tuesday as the OVAC Girls Tennis Tournament closed out its two-day stay on the John Marshall High School courts.
The top-seeded Bradshaw, a Denison University signee, defeated Morgantown’s Maya Greenlee 8-1 in the title tilt. The set won by Greenlee was the first point against Bradshaw all season. The victory also allowed Bradshaw to double up as she won at No. 1 doubles on Monday with partner Samantha Piko.

Second-seeded University High’s Victoria Pei captured the No. 3 crown by outlasting Morgantown’s top-seeded Annika Chadha by a 9-8 (6) count.
Morgantown’s No. 1 seed Annabelle Goody-Koontz won at No. 4 with an 8-2 nod over University’s Julianne Michau.
Morgantown defended its Class 5A team championship with 25 points, which was seven better than University. Oak Glen also repeated in Class 1A-4A with nine points. Indian Creek was second with seven.
